She glanced toward the vehicle he indicated, the other man's silhouette visible inside. Her mind leapfrogged from one stepping stone to the next, that the silhouette was the 'buddy', that the tape really was what it looked like, that something was 'wrong' here, and this man was looking for clues, or evidence, or whatever it was that analysts looked for.

That made Melody blink, her mouth falling open as the stupid question rolled out before she had a chance to stop it. "Why reasonably priced?" she heard in her own ears as she frowned, looking from the guy in front of her, to the house and back again. Her hands tugged the edges of her light coat a little tighter around her body as the chill of the evening started to be felt all of a sudden. "Is there something wrong with it?"
